Blakley Electrics are the UK market leader in the supply of power distribution equipment and lighting systems for use on construction and civil engineering projects. All of our Construction Products are designed to be robust, long lasting and easy to install.
Blakley Electrics Limited was formed in 1957 by Don Blakley, who remains Chairman of the Company. The company has always been customer focussed and remains committed to providing the highest levels of customer satisfaction, through the design, manufacture and distribution of High Performance Power and Lighting products.
Locations
We operate from three locations in the UK: Crayford in Kent, which is our Head Office and Southern Customer Service Centre; Wakefield in West Yorkshire, which is our Northern Customer Service Centre; and Ware in Hertfordshire, which is our Engineering Centre and main Fabrication and Manufacturing facility.
Customer Service and Support
Our Customer Service Centres stock a wide range of finished products and our friendly and efficient Sales Teams provide a high level of product and commercial support. Experienced technical personnel are based at our Engineering Centre, who can provide detailed advice and guidance on the application and installation of all Blakley products. Technical and Project Engineers are also available to visit customers, to discuss requirements in detail and ensure the best possible solution is provided. For larger contracts, a Project Manager is nominated to ensure all key requirements of a contract are fulfilled and to be the main point of contact for the client.
Approvals
We are accredited to Quality Management System Standard ISO9001:2008. The scope of our approval covers the design and manufacture of low voltage Electrical Distribution, Protection and associated Lighting equipment up to 1000V a.c. and Power Transformers for industrial applications up to 250kVA and 3300V ac. We hold a wide range of customer specific approvals, as well as Third Party test certification to support the design of standard and custom built products. All products are approved by our Engineering Department, who oversee extensive Routine and Type Testing, to ensure our equipment is fit for purpose and meets the long term expectations of our customers.
Manufacturing
The vast majority of Blakley products are manufactured in-house, harnessing over 50 years experience in specialist sheet metal fabrication and the electrical assembly of Distribution, Protection and Transformer products. Some moulding processes are carried out by specialist contractors on Blakley owned tooling and light fittings are sourced from approved suppliers from around the world. Our manufacturing expertise is underpinned by a combination of long term investment in CAD equipment, modern facilities and machinery and a dedicated, long serving, skilled work force, who apply their knowledge and experience to all stages of the Design and Manufacturing process.
Information Technology
Long term investment in IT systems and infrastructure ensures we are fully integrated across our organisation and able to support the requirements of customers in the UK and around the world.
Customer Visits
We welcome and encourage customers to visit any of our sites. At Crayford we have a dedicated Customer Centre where we can demonstrate products and concepts, discuss projects, host meetings and carry out customer training.
