Business Development Manager - Construction / Temporary Power
We operate in a number of niche markets and the main focus of this role is to attract business from new customers in the construction / temporary power sector, as well as develop sales to existing key accounts in these sectors. The role is based at our Crayford Head Office, although it is expected that a significant amount of time will be spent in the field developing customer relationships. The main geographic focus is Greater London and the South-East, although there will be some travelling to other parts of the UK.

Full product training will be provided but candidates should have a working knowledge of the IET Wiring Regulations and be conversant with temporary electrical installations. A well developed commercial awareness is also required, as well as excellent communication and selling skills.

Reporting to the MD, this is a senior role requiring a direct, hands-on approach.  An attractive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate, which includes a competitive salary, bonus scheme, fully expensed company car, private health care and generous company pension contributions.

Primarily an office based role, producing bids and submissions for our specialist range of standard and non-standard Distribution, Protection and Transformer assemblies, which are sold to many different  industrial sectors (Military, Rail, Docks & Harbours, Construction).
Detailed knowledge of the IET Wiring Regulations and industrial electrical installations is essential. Experience in the preparation of quotations and cost estimates is also required.

Electro-Mechanical Design Engineer

The Role
The successful candidate will report directly to the Engineering Operations Manager and will have a wide-ranging role within the department.  Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:-

  • Design of the electrical and mechanical aspects of the Company’s range of transformers, lighting and distribution equipment. This includes development of both standard products and of customer specials. Metalwork and circuit designs can range from the straightforward to the very complex and timescales can be challenging.
  • Customer liaison with regard to product development.
  • Liaison with shop floor Fabrication, Assembly and Test personnel.
  • Project management / co-ordination of larger orders/projects.
  • ‘Over the phone’ customer support for on-site technical queries and problems.

The Person

  • A broad range of electro-mechanical experience is required, in line with the role, preferably within a switchgear or transformer manufacturing background. 
  • A qualification of at least HNC/HND level in a relevant discipline is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and the various MS Office programs is required, along with experience of a modern ERP package. 
  • Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication construction methods, CAD CAM systems and 3D CAD would be an advantage.       
  • A working knowledge of BS7671 would be helpful.
  • Good interpersonal skills are needed, along with the ability to take responsibility for one’s own work. 
  • Attention to detail is essential.
