Enclosed Isolator

ESD series of enclosed, high current switch disconnector, designed for arduous outdoor installations such as a Construction or Civil Engineering Site.

Enclosure
Wall mounting sheet steel enclosure of seam welded construction providing protection to IP54. The enclosure incorporates a projecting rain roof, side hinged door and removable gland plate. A screw fixed inset panel (or shield plate) is fitted to prevent contact with live parts when the door is open. The enclosure is protected against corrosion by a high quality, outdoor duty finishing system comprising of a zinc phosphate pre-treatment followed by polyester powder coating, colour bright red (Vermilion, RAL 2002).

Switch
125A, TP, AC22. The switch actuator is located behind the door to reduce the risk of mechanical damage.

RCBO
Fed from the main switch is a 32A 30 mA Type A RCBO intended to provide a local supply for tower crane lights, etc. The RCBO can be connected to the supply side of the switch to allow, for example, the supply to the lighting to be controlled independently from the supply to the crane.

Terminations
The incoming supply terminates directly on to the switch, which is shrouded to IP2X and the load cables terminate on to heavy duty stud type terminals. The supply and load connections can be reversed providing the stud terminals are then shrouded to IP2X – to prevent direct contact with live parts when the shield plate is removed.
