Factory Assembled and Customised IP66 MCB Boards

Overview

We offer a wide standard range of IP66 MCB boards with incomers rated at 125A, 200A and 250A, and outgoing ways from 10 way single-phase to 24 way three phase and neutral. Boards incorporate Schneider ISOBAR P pan assemblies, which accept the innovative PoN RCBOs, which greatly reduce installation time. Standard distribution boards are supplied with all outgoing ways blanked off, for MCBs, RCBOs, etc., to be fitted by the installer on site.

However, when certain options are required, such as extension chambers, rain canopies, panel heaters or surge protection devices, boards need to be factory assembled, which was the case on a recent order for 200A, 16 way and 250A, 24 way boards. The images below of part number A7290495 show a 250A board that was supplied to site fully equipped with an under voltage release, SPD with OCPD, extension chamber and rain canopy. Spare ways were provided in the pan for future expansion and the extension chamber incorporated spare DIN rail, which can accept a wide range of control devices.

We can also meet some quite specific site requirements by adapting standard boards to meet a customer’s exact needs. The image below also shows part number A7290486, which comprised a single-phase MCB board fitted with an extension chamber. The top section incorporated a mains isolator, an SPD and combined RCBO / AFDDs, 2 no. rated at 16A and 1 no. at 32A. Each RCBO / AFDD supplied a like rated interlocked socket fitted to the extension chamber. The sockets were 2P+E, 230V, IP67 to BS EN IEC 60309-2. Again, these custom assemblies were supplied to site fully assembled, minimising on site assembly activity.

Producing fully assembled boards carries a cost and also a lead time. However, a factory built assembly ensures a consistent appearance and a guarantee of quality, which can be harder to achieve with on-site activity.
