500A Generator Connection Point

Generator Connection Point comprising of a wall mounting IP55 enclosure housing a set of single pole 500A Drain power connectors with access via a hinged padlockable door, which provides security against accidental or unauthorised withdrawal or insertion of Source single pole connectors (typically supplied from a generator). A segregated termination chamber for the permanent mains outgoing connection is incorporated.

Enclosure
Wall mounting enclosure of seam welded construction, fabricated from mild steel, protected against corrosion by a high quality, outdoor finish comprising of a zinc phosphate pre-treatment followed by electrostatically applied and oven dried polyester powder paint, shade Dark Admiralty Grey (BS 4800 shade 18B25).
Enclosure dimensions: 965 x 668 x 248mm (H x W x D).

General arrangement
The lower incoming chamber is provided with a side hinged, padlockable door and is fitted with 5 no. panel mounted, 500A, drain single pole connectors (which supply the upper termination chamber). Each of the drain single pole connectors is fitted with an IP55 environmental cap to maintain the IP rating when connectors are not mated to single-pole source connectors. The lower chamber has an open “letterbox” slot in the underside for cable entry. The door can be closed and padlocked when 5 no. single core cables, each fitted with a single pole source connector, is mated with a drain connector (source connectors are typically supplied from a generator).

The upper outgoing termination chamber houses a set of 5 no. 500A copper connection bars. The bars are fitted with M12 stud terminals. The chamber has a choice of two cable exit points: (i) a removable, non-ferrous, rear gland plate and (ii) a removable, non-ferrous, top gland plate. The top gland plate can be replaced by a projecting rain canopy if required.

Please note: the largest cable that can be terminated in a cable mounted single pole connector is 300mm².

Options

To be specified at time of ordering (subject to additional cost):

• Sequential Powerlocks where connectors must be connected / disconnected in sequence (earth is first in and last out).
• Stainless steel enclosure (grade of stainless steel to be specified).
