2 way GMDA Enclosure and Lid

GMDA series ground mounted box and chequer plate lid, up to 2 ways, Standard Duty (meeting the requirements of FACTA Class B).

GMDA series ground mounted boxes are designed to accept suitable GDA series distribution assemblies, to provide plug-in supply points for market stalls and other temporary loads in pedestrian precincts or car parks. The innovative design of the lid achieves a primary aim of the product, which is to avoid creating obstacles or barriers for pedestrians or vehicles. The lid need only be open for the purpose of inserting or removing the load plugs. It can be closed and locked shut at all other times, including when in use.

The box has a welded angle-iron frame with solid walls of 3mm mild steel. The lid, which is intended to be installed flush with ground, is fabricated from 8mm chequer plate and hinged in the middle for safe one person operation. The box has a 150mm diameter drainage hole in the base and removable gland plates in three sides for cable entry and exit. The lid is lockable and keys are supplied separately. The complete assembly is hot dip galvanized to BS729.

Consideration should be given to the adequacy of the drainage away from the box.
