GIFA Series Ground Mounted Box

GIFA/HL series ground mounted box and hinged in-filled lid, 2 way, Standard Duty (meeting requirements of FACTA Class B).

Ground mounted box with hinged, in-filled lid, designed to accept GDA series distribution assemblies (one and two way), to provide plug-in supply points for market stalls and other temporary loads in pedestrian precincts or car parks.

The lid is designed to accept bricks or blocks (in-fill) which will be flush with ground level when fitted (by others). The in-fill must be permanently fixed into the lid and reinforcing rods are incorporated to provide a secure anchor for the mortar. The lid is hinged at one end and a gas strut is incorporated to assist with raising and lowering the lid.

The innovative design of the lid achieves a primary aim of the product, which is to avoid creating obstacles or barriers for pedestrians or vehicles. The lid need only be opened for the purpose of inserting or removing the load connections. It can be closed and locked shut at all other times, including when in use.

The box has a 150mm diameter drainage hole in the base and removable plates in three sides for cable entry and exit. The lid is lockable and keys are supplied separately. The complete assembly is hot dip galvanized to BS729.

Consideration should be given to the adequacy of the drainage away from the box.
